OIL AND ACRYILIC
“My work explores the human figure in its most essential forms and invariable nature at a moment in time. I paint the human figure in settings that reveal more about the person. Some of my work presents a dynamic contrast with both blended and direct application of color. Vintage photographs of my ancestors inspire many of my paintings. These desaturated images are more subdued in appearance and express a restful mood. I view these souvenirs as bridges between the past and future self, painting them into abstracted contexts that transcend time and place.”
