DRAWING I, II, III, IV: THE COMPLETE SERIES
Instructor: Jeannette MacDougall or guest instructor
Prerequisite: Little to None
DRAWING I: Introduction
Get a simple, step-by-step, hands-on guided tour of line drawing with a variety of drawing mediums. Gain an understanding of observational drawing, translating what the eye sees on to the page, as well as the design and composition principles that lie beneath all art: line, color, texture, and values. Let this non-judgmental introductory class be the stepping stone to future art classes. This is an ideal beginner class and prerequisite to advanced drawing classes at Studio Comfort.
Building on the foundation taught in Drawing I, students will compose and draw original artwork through observation in a variety of media. Through an exploration of various subjects, students will develop a series of drawings that demonstrate a deeper investigation and understanding of the principles introduced in the introductory Drawing I class.
DRAWING III: WORKING IN COLOR
Expanding upon the principles learned in Drawing I and II, this class focuses on drawing with colored media. Some materials are included. A materials list for additional supplies will be provided in advance.
DRAWING IV: MIXED MEDIA
Expanding upon the principles learned in Drawing I, II, and III, this class focuses on methods and materials for incorporating your drawings into collage. Some materials are included. A materials list for additional supplies will be provided in advance.
